Fairview Park

Project Description
Fairview Park began with a site planning phase that included extensive community engagement and was made possible through multiple collaborations with non-profits and community organizations. This one acre park had not seen updates since 2003, and was in need of programmatic updates and upgrades related to deferred maintenance.
In 2018, the Master Plan was approved by the Fairview Community Council and the Parks and Recreation Commission. In the summer of 2018, volunteers helped make some of the initial improvements to the park through painting the pavilions and constructing raised planters, and planting several fruit trees and shrubs as part of a Cities of Resilience initiative. In 2019, the playground improvements were completed. In 202, repurposing an underutilized tennis court was completed though resurfacing and furnishing as multi-use volleyball and basketball court. In 2021, a mural was be completed through collaboration with the community and a local artist Arielo "Taylor" Bisco.
