Provides and overview of the Fish Creek Trail Connector - an AMATS funded project with a 91% federal to 9% local match. This project aims to connect the Fish Creek trail to the Coastal Trail in west Anchorage. This project is currently in the Design Study Report (DSR) phase, with construction funding planned for 2025.

Both projects on this page were in conjunction with the Anchorage Metropolitan Area Transportation Solutions, which connects areawide projects and local funding with federal and state match opportunities.

Project inspection took place late summer 2022. This photo shows the views looking east as the trail descends into the wetland.

The trail crosses an AWWU access road as it winds through land owned by Heritage Land Bank and the Municipality of Anchorage. The mountains emerge as the user heads eastbound and descends into the wetland.
